What does  J + M + J + T  stand for?

J + M + J + T is a customary header for letters and any other piece of paper in the discalced Carmelite nuns' tradition. It stands for "Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and Teresa."

Discalced Carmelite nuns consider St. Teresa of Avila their mother, since she founded their branch of the Carmelite order and gave them all she had to offer in both her teachings on prayer and practical wisdom. The Carmelite monks received many of their traditions from the discalced nuns, and so they decided also to adopt this practice honoring their "Holy Mother."
